The food is nothing to write home about, we were quite disappointed. However, the service however I thought was polite, attentive and friendly.

Cant agree more with the review from James below. The service – even when they are busy and that is pretty much any time of the day – is consistently very good as is the food! Highly recommended whether for a coffee and cake, breakfast (most delicious mushrooms) lunch or quiet dinner!

Carluccio’s is our first choice for eating before a drinking session in town. It’s quick, conveniently located, always have a table for two at short notice, and it’s always good.
It has the impression of a chain, I’m not sure if it is. It’s clean, the waiting staff are enthusiastic and friendly, and there’s always a conversational buzz in there on weekend evenings. It’s good for kids too; we’ve been there with four kids and they’ve loved it. It’s not posh or pretentious, but not tacky either. A good balance for a more casual dinner with family or friends.
Improvements? A broader dessert selection would be good. If you’re not made on chocolate, cheese, or sorbets/ice creams covered in liqueurs, there’s practically no choice.
Consistently good quality, not fine dining, but a perfect start to a night out.
