A friend and I regularly visit this restaurant, and for very good reason too. We are always welcomed very warmly by the staff, who are very courteous and professional. The dining area is always spotlessly clean, and has a lovely warm and comfortable atmosphere, even when at full booking. As for the menu, what an amazing array of authentic and regional Indian cuisine they have to offer! There is a lot on the menu that I very rarely see in other local Indian restaurants that i have frequented, so it is always a pleasure to try new and different dishes each time we visit the Raj. My personal recommendation would be the Lamb Shacute, the mix of the tamarind spice with the perfectly cooked tender lamb is some of the best food I have ever eaten, not only in this restaurant but in general! The price is very fair for what you get, as the portions are fairly generous, and the quality of ingredients used really justifies spending out on the higher-end dishes. You definately get what you pay for! I feel very passionate about this restaurant as the owner could not be a more pleasant and nice man, as we always have a chat an a hand-shake whenever we visit, and are always offered a free drink after our meal as a thankyou for our repeat custom, which is always a very good thing! If you are out in Tunbridge Wells and are looking for a quality restaurant, you have found it! LONG LIVE THE RAJ PAVILION!
