My partner and I decided to go out for a nice and quiet dinner in the Hotel du Vin Bistro to celebrate our anniversary a few weeks ago. The menu looked fantastic and I had a real trouble deciding what to chose. We settled for scallops and warm pan-fried chicken liver & bacon salad, both nicely presented and cooked to perfection. The restaurant-baked rustic bread which accompanied our startes was delicious too. We ordered beef steak and halibut as our mains and had a glass of wine recommended to each course by the restaurant’s sommelier. Then our desserts came, passion fruit mousse and vanilla cheesecake, equally scrumptious. Overall the food was beautifully cooked and presented and the service was friendly and attentive. We will eat there again soon.

I had dinner at the Bistro the other day and it was really nice. I enjoyed a cocktial which was recommended by Jacub in the bar and the dinner was just delicious. Marek and his Team looked after me very well and I will definitely come back with my friends and partnr next time. I can only recommend to try this place!!!

Whilst there are a number of good Indian/Bangladeshi restuarants in Tunbridge Wells my favourite is the Bengal Brasserie, consistently excellent with friendly service and reasonable prices. If you like it spicy with flavour try the Naga Masala, which is one of the standout curry dishes in Tunbridge Wells and the kurzi lamb is as good a dish as I have eaten anywhere

I visited the Bistro du Vin Tunbridge Wells last week with my friend and fiance.
AMAZING the bar team and their cocktails were to die for – special thanks has to go to Jacob.
Marek and the Bistro team were second to none with the service really was like being home from home.
Food Delicious
I will be going back and soon!!

Star ratings do not reflect fairly on this place. Reviews are a better guide. Really good quality ingredients, very resonable prices (eat in or take out), nice staff and a relaxed anglo-indian atmosphere. If we fancy Indian – this is the place. Try it for yourself – I’ll be amazed if you are disappointed.

Patchy. Some of the food was good but some very average. Not memorable. Certanly didn’t reflect the prices which were not steep but were not bistro prices. Service was peculiar – intrusive without being there when you need it – quite a French feel now I come the think of it!! Will give it another go but not wild about the place.

Have now been a few times (mainly in the evening but once at lunchtime). Have never had a bad evening. Lovely family who get pleasure from you having a good time. Recommend the liver – delish. Good but short wine list – Gavi was great value. If you want a friendly intimate time give it a try. If you like authentic Italian – don’t miss this. Will be going agian soon. PS Book if you want to go at the weekend.

Attended BBQ last night with colleagues from Skinners, fantastic quality of food for such a large number of people (around 70) fantastic service and surroundings.
Definitly recommend it. Will be coming back soon.

We are frequenting the Mount Edgcumbe more regularly (a couple of times a month). There is an impressive array of Beers and Lager on the Bar, together with a carefully selected collections of wines by the glass. The menu is vast – the main emphasis is based around Steaks and they are simply divine so succulent and cooked to perfection (all our friends who eat Steak just rave about the Steak there. However for a snack lunch we have had Door stop Sandwiches and Baguettes, and a couple of other evenings the Chilli con Carne, Jacket Potatoes, Fish and Chips have certainly satisfied us. The Staff are kind, polite and attentive but not so attentive or push that they are in your face every five minutes. We have just sat, ate and drank at the Mount Edgcumbe at our leisure – not to time constraints other local restaurants in the Town that have to get you in and out ready for the next table to come in! Never ever order steak from Franky and Bennys unless you want it overcooked – the chefs are obviously not skilled enough to cook a steak well.
