Nice suprise and very good food. I had the Pork Belly which was unusual to see on an indian menu. Very nice even though I also expected it to be slow roasted. Price was good as well. Give it a whirl.

Heard a lot of good things about Mooli so when Mrs Manny and myself decided to try somewhere new we chose Mooli. It was a Friday night so thought it might be good to book, after a very confusing conversation something like :-
Me – “Hello. Can I book a table for tonight please ?”
Mooli – “Yes sir let me just check tomorrow nights reservations”
Me – “No, tonight”
Mooli – “Yes tomorrow night”
….
Mooli “What is your phone number ?”
Me “07974″
Mooli “08937″
Me – “No 07974″
Mooli “Yes 08937″
….
Me – “OK so we are booked in tonight at 8.30″
Mooli – “OK see you tomorrow at 8.00″
after almost comedy call we had booked a table for 8.30 (I think)
Walked passed at 7.45, Mooli was almost empty, strange I thought they even asked me to book a little later because they were busy. Had a couple of pints in Suchi’s and went back to a packed Mooli for a (luckly) waiting table, was shown to a seat by the door and proceeded to knock over a wine stand behind me, good start Manny.
Ordered a bottle of white wine which arrived with complimentary poppadoms, well I assume they were, forgot to check bill. Wine was nice a cold complete with ice bucket, am no wine connoisseur but as long as white wine is cold I am usually happy, have had to ask for ice far too many times.
Decided to go off piste for starter and chose Bhutuwa a chicken kidney dish and Di went for vegetable rolls. Kidney dish was good but possibly needed something else with it as approx 15 lightly spiced kidneys in a little edible bowl is enough for anyone, vegetable rolls were excellent cross between spring roles/samosa.
Main dishes I went for a pokey lamb dish (2 chills, sorry forget exact name few glasses of wine and ale down at this point) for myself and Mrs Manny went for “Teeli See” pork belly marinated overnight which had been recommended, Dhahi Bhanta an aubergine side dish and rice. The lamb dish was superb, succulent slow cooked lamb in a rich spicy but not explosive sauce, pork belly was nice but also expected it also to be slow cooked which it didn’t seem to be.
Dessert we went for the Holy Sweet, carrots in milk, not what I was expecting at all, but a very pleasant and original (to us anyway) dessert.
Overall very impressed with food and possible the best service we have had in Tunbridge Wells and unlike many Indian restaurants service staff seem genuinely pleased to see you, bill was a very reasonable too. Will probably choose slightly different dishes next time, but will definitely go back.
