I was in Tunbridge Wells last month, we visited Soup Urb on a number of occasions, the food was delicious, service quick and friendly and the ambiance was retro and comfortable. My favourite dishes are the warm steak salad and the crayfish and my husband practically lived on the pork belly with proper crackling!!!! Oh, and the Jerusalem artichoke soup is to die for!!!!

The name suggests a dingy cafe, where politically correct food is served by humourless characters who spend their free time hugging trees. In fact, this is a superb brasserie (it is far more than a cafe), which serves terrific food at reasonable prices. If it was in London, Paris or New York it would be a sensation – at treble the prices. The sandwiches are delicious – imaginative and stylish and served on fabulous breads (baked locally and the only food not produced on site). There are soups, cooked and cold breakfasts and salads, prepared with such flair that it is no surprise that the owner, Claire Wood, is a trained chef. The service is fast and charming. I cannot recommend Soup-Urb highly enough. It is a pity it is not possible to award six stars.

Went to Soup-urb on Saturday, was really busy but staff were friendly and efficient. I was seated quickly, the atmosphere was wicked. I had the haddock chowder and my boyfriend had the steak salad, they were both awesome. Soup-urb is the coolest place in Tunbridge Wells.

I was over in Tunbridge Wells on holiday last week. (I live in Sweden). I went to Soup-urb several times. I found the the staff are really friendly and efficient. The decor is fun and modern with a touch of Bohemian feel thown in. I tried the massive bacon sandwich, various soups, the matcha smoothie, coffee, and a glass of white wine, all washed down with some cool background music. This was not all on the same day I might add!
The food was really tasty and fresh!
My best recomendation has got to be the matcha smoothie! Great if you are a bit tired and emotional
– lots of anti-oxidants.
Anyway, best of luck Soup-urb, and as Arny would say…..I’ll be back!

So many delicious things to chose from so just have to keep going back, already devoured a wonderful courgette, basil, garlic and parmesan soup, then it was the tomato, basil and pesto…hmmm divine. Can’t wait for my next visit to try another delight.

Fabulous new retro cafe, the best crab soup ever and great atmosphere. Really good place to meet friends for lunch or just pop in for lunch break of freshly made food.

Popped in here with my wife as it looked a nice place. Seriously good soup – we had Broccoli n cheese and Ham & Pea. Very rich in a good way with 2 decent hunks of fresh bread. Good food, good environment, we’ll certainly go back when in Tunbridge Wells.

Delicious soup (wild mushroom, spinach and rocket pesto) and the bestest rocky road this end of town!
