The Spice has served the best Bangladeshi cuisine in Tunbridge Wells for several years and since the new chef started the food is even better than before.

While browsing the menu look past the standard Madras, Kurmas and Baltis to the speciality dishes and here you will many spicy delights to tempt you. I recommend you try a Naga or the fish. If you never have had a Bangladeshi fish curry before , try it here as it’s great.

The guys there are friendly and helpful, the beer is great and the seats are comfy too!

This is the best curry house I’ve been to in TW. It’s also my first choice for takeaway/delivery, despite there being some more local ones to me.

There is everything on the menu you’d expect from an Indian, from the mild and creamy Kormas and Butter Chicken, all the way through to the spicy Garlic Chilli Chicken, and hot Vindaloo. It’s often empty when I go there – and I don’t know why. Perhaps it’s because I’m an early evening diner.

The only criticism I have applies to all curry houses in the UK. There’s too much sugar in all the dishes. Having had the privilege of eating in some of the best restaurants and hotels in India, I can say that the real Indian curries are a quantum leap better than those in the UK – as the food is not sweetened and the flavours of the spices and ingredients really shine through.

The Spice compares with some of the best Indian restaurants in East London. The food is undeniably spicey and is very good. I had the plain poppadum to start and then followed it with the best Chicken Tikka Masala I have ever had. It was so spicey and lovely. I had it with pilau rice which was recommended by the very pleasant waiter. My husband had the Chicken Kurma which he said was lovely and spicey. We would recommend this to everyone.

This restaurant is by far the best for Bangladeshi cuisine in Tunbridge Wells, the food always tastes fresh and the staff are always polite, patient and friendly.
They also occasionally put a new dish on the menu that is somthing many other restaurants fail to do.
I have eaten in many indian restaurants and have probably tried every one in the area over the years but the flavours and aromas of the Lamb shatkora and the Chicken Naga keep pulling me back to this excellent little cosy place.
the only time I remember eating curry as good as this was again in Tunbridge Wells at the Tagore Restaurant sadly now closed and gone.
If you are feeling adventurous try the curry that uses a whole head of pickled garlic (sorry can’t remember the name) and I promise you, you will not be dissapointed.

The Spice is undoubtedly one (the other being Bengal Brasserie) of the best Indian restaurants in Tunbridge Wells. My husband and I have tried every one in town (and some on the fringes too) and always come back to the Spice for both eat in and take away – the food is always consistent in both taste and freshness and the staff are always friendly!
