Great location, pretty good ambience, and would need a third visit to really assess the overall quality of the food, as I’ve had different things on both visits.
If you like your food spicy, then this may not be for you, because I haven’t found the spicy dishes that hot, but that suits my wife, as my tolerance of hot food is higher than hers.
However, this third visit may be not for quite some time, as the service last Friday – 12th November – was really poor, even allowing for a late’ish – 8.45 booking. How long can it take to get a plate of Nachos con quesso as a sharing first course ? – The answer is 30 minutes.
Not dissimilar wait for our main courses.
The waiting staff were – vague, directionless, forgetful, inattentive and really need a boot up the @rse – for their own good, partially, as the payment of a service charge is optional.
Nice, well-spoken, clean -cut, bland middle class kids, ambling around at their own pace. They just didn’t seem to get that they were in a service industry.
We even had to wait ages to get the bill!!!!!!

Zapatas is a lovely Mexican restaraunt near the beautiful Pantiles in Tunbridge Wells. My husband and I had a lovely meal hear with all the wonderful things you would expect of a Mexican meal. I had a burrito and my husband had a different burrito with chicken and they both came with very spicey salssa and avocado and bean. I would heatedly recommend this to everyone and we are going back for my birthday on the 7th of May!!!
